Some people today have signed up for Twitter, a social-networking site, which allows users to display 'status' updates. However, instead of displaying the latest gossip and possibly useless information about what one is doing, Twitter can be used in a professional sense. Instead of gossip, twitter can used to display one's interest and interesting finds on the web. Mr. Cooke, our former principal, had his own twitter, and he displayed his interests in a professional sense. As a result, Wolframalpha, a major information-based site, sought him out and hired him for a job collecting data. Twitter had gotten someone a job. For an example of a professional Twitter profile, Click here. This is my ICT teacher's Twitter, and he uses it to connect with teachers in Australia and England.
Also, I just started "Tweeting," follow me here.

Web 2.0 Applications
These applications are interactive and really cool. One is a the iNudge, which allows you to create beats. Unlike other 'beat makers,' this application includes the use of drums, 'avatar', 'organ,' and several others. This one is a definitely must-hear. Click here. Made by the Germans, you know this is a good app.
Another application is Sumo Paint. This application is alike the photoshop-interface, as its presents almost all the same tools to make pictures. This program is also like an advanced version of Paint, which allows you to draw pictures with a few tools. This program, in my opinion, is a mix between photoshop and paint, as it includes many interesting tools. Click here to see.

Top 10 Microsoft Programming
Eweek has released a list of Microsoft's top ten programming languages. For acceptance into the company, programmers must be proficient in many of these languages. You can find it at: http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Application-Development/Top-10-Microsoft-Programming-Languages-704642/?kc=EWKNLEDP11302009A.
Here is a list of the programming languages:
-Visual C++
-Visual C# (C Sharp)
-Visual Basic
-Iron Python
-Iron Ruby
-Java Script
-Visual F# (F Sharp)
-PHP
-"M"
-Axum
Currently, we have learned the basic version of Python and Visual Basic. Clearly we are not ready to apply to Microsoft...

Kindle in Canada!
Sorry guys, I haven't posted in a long time. Life just hasn't been good to me, but anyways here is the breaking news! The Amazon.com Kindle, a device, which stores complete books for reading on a electronic screen, has come to Canada. This handy device allows readers acess to 300,000 books. In Canada, its main opponent in the market would be the Indigo Books & Music Inc.'s Shortcovers e-book service. Like the Kindle, the Shortcover e-book service, allows readers to download books to their smartphones, like the iPhone, Blackberry, and Palm Pres. The Kindle is already a competitor of Indigo through the online book store.
The main question I ask you guys: would you use the Kindle or is conventional reading more ideal to you?

Update
First of all, I would like to apologize to Stephen Lee, my ICT classmate, for biting (ie. copying) his ShoutMix gadget in the sidebar, but the good news is that you can all now comment on my blog. Also, be sure to check out his blog, if you want to see a real blog, interesting and all: http://stephenspace-slee.blogspot.com/
Visual Basic
We have just finished learning about the programming language, Turbo Pascal, and are moving on to Visual Basic. At the moment, I have had 132 visits to my website, 373 pageviews, and 74 unique visitors (different people). The visitor who has visited my site with the highest screen resolution is someone with a 1920x1200 screen resolution (darn rich people... just kidding). In case you are wondering, I am tracking my visitors through a site, http://www.google.com/analytics, which tells me all about my visitors, excluding IP addresses. I would also like to thank all my visitors.

Reviews!
"I know you ICT peeps are cool an' all, and I'mma let you finish; but Lambchopz Blog is the best of ALL TIME!" - Calvin
"Life's good, and so is Lamchopz' Blog" - LG
"Because you're worth it, you should visit Lambchopz' Blog" - Loreal
"No Blog is longer lasting" - Duracell Batteries
"Its better than the Mac!" - Mac Guy
I know these quotes are pretty lame, except the first one (shouts to Calvin), but that is because I am currently under stress with my preparation for my SAT subject test this Saturday. I am taking Physics and Mathematics Level 2. The thing that scares me about Physics is that, US curriculum is not the same as the Canadian curriculum, therefore it might be a bit hard for me. If you have any tips for SATs, don't be shy to leave a comment.

OLPC XO Laptop
Last year, the students in this course helf a funraiser to buy two XO laptops. These laptops have been designed for use by students in third-world countries. They are given to students to take home, where in some cases they might be the only source of light. The class kept one laptop and the other was donated to the OLPC program.

Polls Everywhere
Can cellphones actually be used to enhance school education? I think so. Sites like, www.polleverwhere.com, allow teachers to make their own polling on questions of their choice. Here's my poll: Lambert's Poll. If you want to say No, text '29598' to 99503, if Yes, text '29478' to 99503 also (this poll works only for states, but you can adjust setting for anywhere). If you don't care, no worries, just keep going. Schools can use this for aspects of business, history, english, chemistry, and many more. The questions don't even have to be "Yes/No" questions; it can be used for multiple choice as well. I believe that this polling system could be valuable, as many kids, who would have otherwise not participate in class, can partipate by texting annoynomously their answers to whatever question of the teacher's choosing. In this way, the teacher can address problems that deal according to the majority of voters. Currently, many school policies don't allow cellphones in class. At our school, cellphones are convisgated on sight. Leave a comment! Do you think this will be effective? Should we try to get this in our school systems?

ICT Stuff
In class, we went to Wolfram Alpha (www.wolframalpha.com), a site, which gives you all the information about any piece of information. We learned about binary code. My number in binary is 01101. We also went to Google Analytics (www.google.com/analytics), which gave us information about traffic for websites. I attached it to this blog, but sadly, the traffic at my website is terrible. Here are two friends, whose site you should also follow:
